This Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary for tribe.net!
Brian, Walter, Patti... their profiles all began 07/21/03.
What should we do to mark this occasion? Crash the tribe offices with balloons and party favors?!?!

I read this as "crash the tribe orifices". Heh. -

Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 11:58 AMThat's quite enough of that. There will be no spontaneous bursts of hilarity in any thread that I start!!! -

Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 12:44 PMOoh, that reminds me of a deathless quote from Zoe last night. I have to post this all over the place. It was in reference to the fact that Zoe wants to have Jason's babies:
"He can spray sperm all over the place, as long as he sends some my way."

Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 9:11 PMBut back to the topic at hand---
Does anyone except me care about the tribe natal anniversary? -
-
Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 9:13 PMSure I do. But (a) I don't live as conveniently close to the Tribe office as you do and more importantly (b) I'm going crazy nuts with the packing to move thing. -

Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 9:15 PMI think it's pretty spiffy. But Wednesday's a busy day for me, so I don't think I'd be able to participate.

Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 9:21 PMNo.
I do care about the effects of aging on my hands, though. They used to be so much younger looking. -

Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 11:45 PMDr. Yo, I'm probably going to go to the Frank Chu party on Wednesday night over at art-sf on Capp Street. But, yes, I do think something nice directed toward Tribe.Net is in order. -
-
Re: 07/21/03
Mon, July 19, 2004 - 11:53 PMOoh, Frank Chu party? I better check the Chu tribe!
Well maybe we should just all post millions of threads and listings saying "Happy Birthday TRIBE.NET!"
Go nuts, y'all -

Re: 07/21/03
Tue, July 20, 2004 - 12:31 AMoh that's sweet, no really that's sweet. maybe some similar tribe icon pictures people can use for the day-the tribe icon with ahappy birthday or something spiffy like that. -

I didn't get it. KT, can you PM me with the PG explanation? -

Re: 07/21/03
Tue, July 20, 2004 - 11:01 AMMy favorite KTangent: @ the Potluck on Sunday, we observed Jason sitting in the hot tub, unswerving, unerring and obviously content in his choice of seating. Someone made the comment, "Jason hasn't moved from that corner." KT says, "No one puts Baby in the corner." I think I was the only one who heard it ... and, even in my stupor, burst out laughing. -

Re: 07/21/03
Tue, July 20, 2004 - 4:54 PMY'all are welcome to design whatever you want. I like the enigmatic quality of this, and also, I don't have time to make it fancy.
I almost added a single candle coming out of the tribe logo, but it was too damn phallic! -
-
Re: 07/21/03
Tue, July 20, 2004 - 5:11 PMI think it's perfect, Yo. It's clean, streamlined and not so busy that you can't read it when shrunken down to the size of a postage stamp. Plus, it reminds people about the short duration we've all been together on-line, rather than just suggesting a birthday has passed. Makes it kinda formal.
-
Re: 07/21/03
Tue, July 20, 2004 - 5:29 PM> also, I don't have time to make it fancy.
Which is why I didn't mention the candle thing 'til mynxie popped up. I'm not trying to be unappreciative of your completely fee-free Photoshop time, Dr. Yo. Thank you for making that. -

I didn't mean it that way. You know that.
And if you don't know that, drive over here so you can see the look on my face when I say it. -

Considering the rate at which I'm having to divest myself of possessions, I'm sure a lovely take-home package could be assembled. -

Re: 07/21/03
Wed, July 21, 2004 - 2:29 PMSorry, I'm not awake yet KT. Slept until one pm, ate a donut, drank a cup of coffee and STILL not awake.
Thanks for the variations on the theme. My only regret is that I couldn't find a larger tribe logo, so I had to upsample the one from the site homepage. So it's a little rough around the edges, and no time to clean it up.

Re: 07/21/03

Gotta add to the Tribe Love here. Happy Birthday, here's another in a long list of Avatars. -

Re: 07/21/03
Wed, July 21, 2004 - 3:25 PMMy friends list today was most often filled with the Yo avatar, but there was always one exception. Just moments ago, Madame Gonzaga was sitting, sans tribe logo, in the Whoopi Goldberg square. -

Re: 07/21/03
Wed, July 21, 2004 - 5:01 PMYeah I should have thought to provide a .PSD file with a layer mask so ppl could easily slug in whatever background they wanted. Oh well, there's always next year.
I prefer the standard gray, even though it's not beautiful. That is the tribe.net design scheme, after all.
Of all the variations, I like Slim's the best. Yellow tribe ducky! -

Yay tribe! -

Re: 07/21/03
Wed, July 21, 2004 - 8:47 PMI am merely the bearer of good tidings. All props should go to the tribe staff!
I sent a thank-you note to Mark Pincus, I wonder if he saw it. -

Re: 07/21/03
Wed, July 21, 2004 - 9:28 PMIt only lasted on my avatar about half of the day! I got too excited about the great picture of me and Adam. He and I grew up together, and I hadn't seen him IRL for AGES. I got to see him this weekend. I heart Tribe a lot, but I heart Adam more! -

Thu, July 21, 2005 - 10:42 AMI got so confused reading this thread, because I didn't notice it was a year old, and I'm thinking, "Spidra's moving?!" but her house is so cute! And she just moved a year ago!
Now I get it. I have a lil tribute image I made for myself. Like I have time for that, but hey, it's fun to be rebellious with many deadlines hanging over your head! :P
Happy Tribe-day!
I'd show you what I put on my blog about it, but it's down. :( -

Stop this tomfoolery. It's not funny. -
